Self-defence and weapons

Working with a weapon is not about carrying one. It is about understanding what a weapon does in an attacker's hand — and what can be done about it.

What you will meet here

  • Traditional Japanese

Tantō, bokken, jō and hanbō. The foundation Japanese jiu-jitsu stands on — and the best way to understand distance, timing and how the body works.

  • Escrima stick

A short stick from the Filipino tradition. It teaches precision and speed of the hand and works well with children — the stick shows immediately whether the movement is led correctly.

  • Modern

A telescopic baton and other tools people may run into today. We train defence and handling, not flashy routines.

  • Why we do it

Anyone who has felt how fast a weapon changes a situation behaves differently under threat. The goal is calm and judgement, not the kind of courage that gets people hurt.
